The purpose of this app is to track whenever the current heart rate exceeds either the min HR, or the max HR or both (defined in user settings, or manually set in app settings, or set to 50 bpm for HR min and 185 bpm for HR max by default) during a standard day.

The aim of this application is to track each time the current HR rises above and/or falls below the minimum and maximum thresholds set by you, during the current session. These thresholds can be activated or deactivated, according to your choice at the time, and their value adjusted according to your preferences. By default, when the application is first launched, the minimum threshold is set at 50 bpm, and the maximum threshold at 185 bpm.

Since version 2.40 of the application, it is now possible to select a type of sporting activity within the application itself, and your session will then be saved in the FIT file with this type of activity, and of course all the corresponding metrics (course layout, main metrics, HR zones, etc.).

The “None” activity remains entirely free of charge, which means that the application's operation in this mode remains perfectly identical to what it has always offered, and will continue to do so. For users who only wish to use this mode, nothing changes.

For users wishing to access the other five types of activity, you will need to unlock the functionality by paying 7USD to cover the additional cost of implementing this new function and maintaining the application, in view of the growing number of watch models to be supported.

Currently, the 6 types of activity supported in the application are as follows:
none -> none: you launch your session as a simple HR tracker, this mode is suitable for all aspects of your daily life, excluding the practice of specific sports activities
walking -> choose this mode for all your walking activities
hiking -> concerns all your hiking activities, trekking, etc.
running -> concerns all your running activities, trail, etc.
cycling -> concerns all your cycling activities (road, gravel, mountain bike, etc)
rowing -> concerns all your rowing, canoeing, kayaking activities, etc.

When one of the five activity modes is selected (other than “None” mode), you will then have access to three additional options:
▪ choice of GPS constellation (for models compatible with this function), for improved track accuracy
▪ automatic pause of the session if your speed drops below 2 km/h, the application then considers you to be at a standstill, and automatic restart if your speed rises above 2 km/h again
▪ automatic session pause if your HR reaches the set HR max threshold, and automatic restart when your HR drops back down to the HR min threshold. This option is particularly useful and practical for people with certain cardio-respiratory disorders, for example, a rapid rise in heart rate during moderate or slightly greater effort than usual and who, at a certain HR level, can no longer move forward, or have difficulty breathing or catching their breath. In this case, the heart rate will probably reach the maximum threshold (if correctly adjusted to the user's physiology) and the session will automatically pause, allowing the user to stop, catch his breath and wait for the heart rate to drop back down to the minimum threshold, at which point the session can be restarted. When this happens, the application will emit an audible alert, which may or may not be accompanied by a vibration, and the session will pause on its own, telling the user to stop and wait for a moment until the heart rate drops to the minimum threshold.

Note that the two options (pause on speed and pause on HR) can be combined. Be careful, however, with your pause frequencies, and make sure you don't repeat them too often over too short a period, otherwise the timer in your watch's firmware may be faulty, possibly causing the application to crash.

Each time a heart rate threshold is reached, the watch starts to vibrate and/or emits an audible alert (low tone for min. heart rate, high tone for max. heart rate), associated with the screen turning red, until the user presses the BACK/LAP button (or presses the screen for touch-screen models), or if the current heart rate drops below max. heart rate before the user interrupts the alert.
Each time the heart rate is exceeded, the application counts it.

If you do not want to use the min and max HRs, you just have to deactivate the option in the 2 corresponding menus. You will then use the application as a simple HR tracker.

Since version 2.06 of the application (April 01, 2022), the application allows you to alert when one of the 3 stress thresholds is crossed (function available for compatible models managing the history of stress data), both up and down. This option can be enabled / disabled through the "Options -> Stress Alert" menu.

The stress zones determined by Garmin are as follows:
▪ 0 - 25 = resting state
▪ 26 - 50 = low stress
▪ 51 - 75 = medium stress
▪ 76 - 100 = high stress

Thus, each time one of the 3 key values (26 - 51 - 76) is crossed, the application will be able to alert you by emitting a sound sequence (low = low stress, high = high stress) - if the model is compatible with tones function - associated with a number vibration corresponding to the threshold in question.

Recording a lap
A functionality lets you record a "lap", directly saved in the FIT file as a new LAP. This lap is triggered by simply pressing the BACK/LAP button, each time and as many times as you wish, and will include the following information:
▪ HR at the start of the lap
▪ HR mini and HR max of the lap
▪ HR at the end of lap

On all the touchscreen models (especially those without a BACK/LAP button), the lap is triggered by a swipe right on the screen.

In the summary of your session, these laps are located and appear in the "Laps" tab of your session, below the graphs, in the "Statistics" - "Laps" - "Segments" area.
The menu is accessible by long press on the UP key (or a slide to the left for touch models), it gives access to all the application parameters.

To switch from one screen to another, simply press the UP and DOWN buttons (or swiping UP - DOWN on the screen for compatible models).

You can start recording a session by pressing the START button, which will display a timer and 2 small flashing red circles, indicating that a session is therefore being recorded. You end the recording by clicking again on the START / STOP button, then displaying a menu giving you the option to save / pause / resume or not the session.
If the session is saved, it will be saved as a FIT file, and can be viewed in your Connect dashboard.

Quick access menu
On models with a compatible touch screen, and compatible with SDK version 3.4.0 minimum, a long press on the lower right area of the screen opens a quick access menu to certain functions, thus saving you from having to navigate the main menu and its sub-menus to access these functions.
